About Melvin Nerdster

Melvin Nerdster is the working name of Juan Sánchez Villalobos Ramírez, a man who has been credited as a background extra, a producer, a chief metallurgist, and, on at least one form, the recipient of 19 Grammy awards.

From 1989 to 1993 he was a Saved by the Bell extra at Bayside High. Hallway kid. The back of a Max diner booth. The blur behind Zack’s freeze-frame. No lines. One parking pass. He spent four seasons watching Kelly Kapowski walk through a lighting setup he was not important enough to stand in, then did the only reasonable thing and went into music production.

By 1991 he was taking night work that paid in cues instead of day-player checks. Hughes needed a song for Josie. Ramírez wrote Josie Girl. Lawyers wrote the rest. The song did not ship.

He put Axl Ridley and Lane Corbin out front. Neon Hearts split in 1993, the same year Bayside went dark. In 1997 he brought the band back with British superstar Veronica Vixen, a former stripper. They ran that until 2002 and quit again. He waited. In 2026 he released Josie Girl anyway, pulled Ridley, Corbin, and Vixen back together, and started the next record.

He now produces Neon Hearts, makes AI music and movies, and maintains that there can be only one overnight janitor with a synthesizer.

Satanic Panic

Program notes

Satanic Panic is the combination of 80s trauma, fun, and the true stories Melvin experienced in the 80s.

The Satanic Panic was the response of trying to stop 1 million new converts to Satanism. I hope I can capture what truly happened in this dark time of American history.

— Melvin Nerdster, award-winning director

New Bethel, 1987. Kandy Kane plays a cop whose best friend and fellow officer, Honey Trap, has gone missing. As Halloween draws closer, Kandy starts suspecting a very evil presence is moving things behind the scenes.

Andy Sidaris energy. Jim Wynorski timing. Melvin somewhere in the middle — in on the joke just enough to keep the wig on straight.

How it got funded

Melvin won a grant of 100k dollars and sold one of his Grammy awards.

One hundred thousand is the kind of number that makes a hallway extra sit up in the Max diner booth. Then he sold a Grammy. Not all nineteen — one. The statue that used to mean he had made it in music now means the tungsten is paid for and the film stock is in the fridge.

Satanic Panic is in production because Melvin Nerdster cashed in a piece of the thing he already won, for a shot at the thing he has not.

Oscar hopes

Award-winning director

He knows what this is

Award-winning director. He will tell you that. He will also tell you this is a B-movie. Both things can sit on the same call sheet.

Some of the guys who made these pictures in the eighties knew exactly what they were making. Some were oblivious. Melvin is right in the middle: he knows the wig is synthetic and he still wants the Academy to take a meeting.

He has the dailies. He has Halloween. He has New Bethel, 1987. He wants the Oscar anyway.

19 Grammys on file. Oscars: pending, aggressively.

When she was told she was too “busty” for modeling, she came across an X post by Melvin Nerdster. “I knew then who was my future was with.” Dating status: not looking. Focused on making Melvin happy and making more movies with him. First starring role.

She also starred in Melvin Nerdster’s film Night Nurses on Weight Loss Programs. Halfway through filming the footage burned in a fire and was never released.
